The Love Island USA Season 8 reunion has finished filming, and the first round of post-taping drama is already spreading online before the special even airs. Winner Trinity Tatum spent this week denying viral claims that she was escorted out of the taping after an altercation with fellow Islander Sol Dean, calling the rumors false in comments on Instagram and TikTok.
Love Island USA’s Season 8 reunion will premiere Monday, August 31, at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock. Hosts Ariana Madix and Andy Cohen taped the special August 9-10 in front of the franchise’s first-ever live studio audience at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, gathering the season’s finalists and fan favorites to discuss their lives since leaving the villa.

The reunion streams exclusively on Peacock starting at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT on August 31. A Peacock subscription is required, with plans starting at $7.99 a month for the ad-supported Select tier. This marks the third straight year Madix and Cohen have co-hosted the reunion together, a pairing that began with the Season 6 special.
A Franchise First: Live Studio Audience
For its first seven seasons, Love Island USA reunions were taped without anyone in the room besides cast and crew. That changed this year. Filming took place over two days at Universal Studios Hollywood: a red carpet arrivals event on Sunday, August 9, followed by two separate studio taping sessions on Monday, August 10, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Fans could apply for free through OS | LA Productions to attend either the arrivals or one of the taping sessions, each running roughly five hours.
Nearly the full Season 8 cast turned out for the red carpet, including all four finalist couples, several Casa Amor additions, and islanders who were sent home earlier in the season.
Who Is Hosting
Ariana Madix returns for her third consecutive year hosting the reunion, alongside Bravo’s Andy Cohen. Madix, an Emmy nominee for her work hosting the main series, and Cohen will lead the cast through conversations about their time in the Fiji villa and their lives in the roughly one month since the July 12 finale.
Where the Finalist Couples Stand
All four finalist couples were present for the taping, and their relationships appear to be continuing in various forms.
Season winners Trinity Tatum and Bryce Dettloff remain a couple and have called each other boyfriend and girlfriend since before the finale. Tatum has said she plans to relocate from Virginia to Los Angeles to be near Dettloff, telling TODAY she wants to be “wherever Bryce is.”
Runners-up Aniya Harvey and Carl Schmidt are still dating, though they have not put an official label on the relationship. Third-place finishers Melanie Moreno and Sincere Rhea and fourth-place couple Kayda Bosse and Zach Georgiou were also part of the reunion cast, based on red carpet attendance.
Other confirmed attendees included KC Chandler, Tierra “Titi” Davis, Corbin Mims, Parmida Keshani, and Mackenzie “Kenzie” Annis.
Rumors Swirl Before the Episode Airs
Because this year’s taping happened in front of a live audience for the first time, details leaked almost immediately after filming wrapped on August 10. The most widely shared claim, which spread on TikTok and X, alleged that Tatum got into an argument with Islander Sol Dean and was removed from the set.
Tatum addressed the claims directly. “I hate that I even have to say this, but don’t believe everything on the net lol I did not get escorted out,” she wrote on Instagram. She added, “Also we never had an altercation but goodnight my loves.” She also responded to a TikTok spreading the rumor, writing that the claim was untrue and that she did not know where it originated. Peacock has not commented on the unverified claims, and the actual content of the reunion will not be confirmed until the episode airs.
Beyond the Villa Renewed for Season 3
Peacock has confirmed that its spinoff series, Love Island: Beyond the Villa, is returning for a third season, expected to premiere in 2027. The show follows former islanders as they adjust to life after the villa, and its first two seasons featured casts from Season 6 and Season 7. Peacock has said the Season 3 cast will be announced later this year but has not confirmed whether Season 8 islanders will appear.
Season 8’s Performance and What’s Next
Season 8 was a strong performer for Peacock. The network has said the season ranked as its top streaming reality series for five consecutive weeks and drew a significant share of new viewers to the franchise.
An application for Season 9 is already open on Peacock’s casting site, though the network has not formally announced a renewal. Given the show’s ratings track record, another season is widely expected to follow the reunion’s rollout.
