Nintendo has confirmed nine playable Nintendo Switch 2 titles for its Gamescom 2026 booth in Cologne, running August 26 to 30. The lineup pairs first-party games like Nintendo Switch Sports Resort and Splatoon Raiders with third-party debuts, most notably Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and 007 First Light, both making their first hands-on appearance on Switch 2 hardware.
Nintendo of Europe released the full list on August 5, ending weeks of speculation about what would fill its floor space this year. The booth sits at the entrance of Hall 9.1, Stand A10, the same general area Nintendo used for its large Switch 2 presence in 2025, and it also includes a dedicated Super Mario play zone with several additional titles beyond the core nine.
The Confirmed Playable Titles
Nintendo’s official Gamescom lineup for Switch 2 consists of the following games:
- Nintendo Switch Sports Resort
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
- Orbitals
- 007 First Light
- Minecraft Dungeons 2
- EA Sports FC 27
- Splatoon Raiders
- Pokémon Pokopia (Expansion Pass)
- Metaphor: ReFantazio
A separate Super Mario area rounds out the booth with Mario Kart World, Star Fox, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition alongside its Together in Bellabel Park content, the Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 collection, Donkey Kong Bananza, and an enhanced version of Minecraft built for Switch 2.
Call of Duty Returns to Nintendo Hardware
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 marks the first mainline entry in Activision’s shooter series to appear on Nintendo hardware since Call of Duty: Ghosts launched on Wii U in 2013. The game launches day and date on Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 23, 2026, as a native Switch 2 build developed with support from Digital Legends. Nintendo and Microsoft have described the release as part of their ongoing content agreement following Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision, and cross-play support is currently in testing.
007 First Light also makes its Switch 2 debut at the show. IO Interactive senior licensing producer Theuns Smit said the port is “in a really good spot” ahead of its Gamescom reveal. No release date has been set for the Switch 2 version yet.
Metaphor: ReFantazio will run in Nintendo’s free-play area, and the same Switch 2 build will also be playable at SEGA’s separate booth in Hall 7, giving the RPG two demo stations at the show.
Release Windows for Booth Titles
Several games on the floor already carry confirmed release dates, while others remain unreleased ahead of the show.

Splatoon Raiders, a single-player-focused entry centered on treasure hunting across the Spirhalite Islands, and Star Fox, a full remake of Star Fox 64 built with Velan Studios, are both already available. Their Gamescom appearance gives fans a large-scale public hands-on rather than a first look. Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, by contrast, returns to Wuhu Island with 12 motion-controlled sports played with Joy-Con 2 controllers, and Cologne attendees get one of the earliest chances to try the finished build before its October 22 launch.
Booth Experience and On-Site Activities
Nintendo’s Gamescom setup focuses on hands-on play rather than new software reveals. Visitors who check in with a Nintendo Account can receive a promotional gift while supplies last, plus 100 Platinum Points for the Nintendo eShop. Nintendo Today! and Pikmin Bloom users get access to exclusive digital frames and related in-app challenges tied to the event.
Daily tournaments will run across selected titles, including Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, Star Fox, and Mario Kart World, alongside photo opportunities at the stand.
What’s Missing From the Booth
Several of Nintendo’s most anticipated 2026 titles are absent from the confirmed list. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, revealed at the June 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct with a launch window of later this year, has no confirmed Gamescom demo. Given that Nintendo teased the remake with a cinematic trailer rather than gameplay footage, a playable build at this show was considered unlikely.
Diablo IV is also not part of Nintendo’s official lineup, despite ongoing speculation. Blizzard confirmed a Switch 2 version of the game, bundled with the Lord of Hatred expansion, back in April 2026, but has not set a firm release date. Reports suggest a possible September launch and a reveal timed to Gamescom’s Opening Night Live broadcast on August 25, but neither Nintendo nor Blizzard has confirmed this.
Gamescom 2026 at a Glance
Gamescom 2026 runs from Wednesday, August 26, through Sunday, August 30, at Koelnmesse in Cologne, with Opening Night Live streaming on August 25 and trade and media access beginning earlier in the week. Confirmed exhibitors include Nintendo, Xbox, EA, and SEGA, among other major publishers. Sony’s PlayStation is not exhibiting, continuing a pattern that dates back to 2019.
Nintendo’s booth follows a packed summer of Switch 2 software news, including the June Nintendo Direct that introduced the Ocarina of Time remake and several other titles now feeding into the Gamescom lineup. For attendees, Hall 9.1 remains the anchor point for Nintendo’s demo stations across all five public days, and any hopes for a Zelda demo or a formal Diablo IV reveal should be treated as open questions rather than confirmed content, since Nintendo’s official statement covers only the nine core Switch 2 titles plus the Super Mario area games listed above.
